The Grind House

This past Tuesday, while driving home from school, I was feeling bad for myself because I just took a quiz and it did not go so good. It was one of those things where I knew the information, for the most part, but got all freaked out when the test was in front of me. I was nervous because it was timed, and the professor continually interrupted us to tell us things about what we would be going over next week.

A bit loquacious, she is.

That same day, right before the quiz, I had gotten back a test I took the week before. I scored a 95 on it and was only able to be proud of myself for a few short hours before the gloom of my performance on the test I just took set in.

Any-hoo…………

When I drive home from school, I either take the highway (mopac to 183) or I take the scenic Burnet road to 183 rout.

This day, I felt like going down Burnet, and I am glad I did.

There I was, sitting at the light on Burnet right in front of the Omlelttry (a yummy eatery) mentally beating myself up for my poor performance. I looked over at the Omlettry and noticed that there were all these cameras set up.

Film cameras.

Then I noticed that they had the joint blocked off from foot and vehicle traffic.

Then I noticed all the cops guarding the joint.

My eye focused on a bright yellow muscle car with black racing stripes parked right infront of the building.

“Cool, maybe I can spot a celebrity”, I thought, because a scene from a movie was obviously being filmed. Because the cops were there, I figured some big named celebs must be involved.

Sure enough, out walks this man:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

He goes up to the car and starts talking to whomever (or whoever , I always forget which is correct to use) is sitting in it.

I got all excited and thought about snagging my camera from my bag to snap a quick photo.
My thoughts at the moment:
“Damn, the camera is deep in the bag and I can’t get to it in time”.
“Maybe I should yell something….Hey, QT!!!! Love your stuff”
“No, that’s stupid”
“why Is Quentin wearing a long sleeved black shirt? It’s 95 degrees out here?”
“Shit, the light is green”

So you see, spotting Quentin Tarantino took away the misery I was feeling due to my poor test performance. The rest of the way home, I just thought about what I would say if I met him. Then I fantasized about meeting him and getting cast in the movie because he liked me so much. That turned into me thinking about that I would have to quit school and move to Hollywood to be a big star. Then I decided that I would not want to be a big star, but only star in one movie and make some nice cash so that I could buy a cool house and a new car.

IMBD says that QT is here in Austin filming this:
The movie is Grind House- “Two full length feature horror movies written by Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez put together as a two film features. Including fake movie trailers in between both movies.”

Awesome.
