Hacienda at Antone's....you should have been there!

You suck.

Would you like to know why?

I'll tell you why...you suckie-suckerson. It's because you were not at Hacienda's recent show at Antone's. That's why.

On the contrary, Dale and I don't suck because we were there. I know you have your reasons for not going out on a Saturday night. Some of them, I'm sure, are legitimate. Guess what? You still suck. I'm sorry.

Don't worry....a little birdie told me that they will be back this summer to play for the inhabitants of our fair city yet again (this has not been officially confirmed but I am pretty dang sure it is so...I'll get you the date as soon as I know it) If you want to remove your "suck status" then I strongly suggest that you go.

"Aw, come on Sarah! What's so special about this Hacienda you speak of?"

I'll tell ya, cowboy. Are you ready? Open your eyes 'cause here I go....

Hacienda shines. They play with smiles and heart and with damn good taste. Their music is nothing like anything you have heard on the scene in a long while. They play the kind of music that has the ability to make you sing along without even realizing you memorized every lyric. I bought their album a while back and it has been on heavy rotation in our house. Let me tell you that I was absolutely shocked to find out, during their Antone's performance, that each and every member of the band take turns singing lead vocals. They blend so perfectly with each other that I just assumed it was one person on lead while the others harmonized.
My mistake. The proof is in the pictures:

Oh, the harmony............sweet mother...they HARMONIZE! It will give you goose bumps.

Plus, they make you want to shake your ass.

I am wondering what happened to me. Maybe you can help. Apparently, I have reverted back to the state of mind a that 14 year old girl might possess. At one point during Hacienda's show, after one song ended and before the next began, Dante was saying a little something about how they were happy to be playing for us here in Austin.

He then said something about recently playing SXSW which made me shout "BILL'S PLACE" at the top of my lungs. I think the band got a kick out of it because they all smiled.

(Note: they played many other shows during SXSW...not just the one at Bill's place)
Dante looked over at me and said, "That's right...Bill's place."

and then
he
dedicated
the
next
song
to
me.

"This next one if for you, Sarah."

At this point, I threw both hands in the air and then quickly tried to correct myself act cool like that kind of shit happens to me all the time.

They broke into the Sonny and Cher classic- Baby Don't Go.
You bet your ass they cover a Sonny Bono song.

After the Show, Dale and I were standing outside of Antone's and he said......
"So, did they just dedicate a song to you or what?"

I replied with "Oh my gosh they totally did! HAHAHAH!!"

It made my night.

I hope that I can go to the next show so that my "suck-status" can be reversed...
