The lost Halloween

Friends, this is the first time in my 29 years of life that I have not dressed up for Halloween.

Why???

Fu**ing grad school, that’s why. Initially, I wanted to be a person straight out of the old west. I had the costume all planned in my head. There was no time to pull it together, so I had to abort the mission.

Then, I thought about being a witch. I have NEVER dressed as a witch for Halloween before, so this would have been a good opportunity to do so. Again, the outfit was all planned in my head but I had no time to pull it together.

Buying a pre-made costume at the store does not agree with me. It takes all the fun away. So, when faced with the choice of either buying a costume (ugh) or skipping Halloween, I had to skip Halloween.

Next year, I will be the best witch you have ever seen!!!!

During my Christmas break, I think I will have to dress up several times and post the pics on the blog so that I can somewhat make myself feel better for missing my favorite holiday.

I know you wanna see that.

Even though I did not get to dress up, I did get something really great for Halloween. A new niece was born at 4:00 in the morning this Oct. 31st. Her name is Lily.
