Tasting Agony

Here we are seated at the table for a nice hamburger dinner. Upon Danny's request, Dale also threw some jalapeños on the grill. Though I enjoy some sliced jalapeños on nachos, tacos, and BBQ pizza, I do not put them on my burger.

But Danny does.

Here's his burger:

Not only does he have a whole jalapeño as a side dish, but he has a few layers of those bad boys on his burger sammich.

Danny takes a few bites and I watch his face contort while he chews.....nom, nom, nom.

He swallows the food, takes another bite, and his eyes turn red.

Danny's teeth tear away another chunk of jalapeño burger and I watch as his skin takes on a hue that makes him look like a redhead during spring break.

And then, little beads of sweat pop up on Danny's head. The little beads become big drops and start sliding south.

At this point, I ask Danny "why do you feel that you need to make eating such a painful experience?"

Seriously? Girls don't do this. They don't make eating a burger into some sort of "man v. food" challenge. Sure, I like a little spice but I am not about to take a bite of something that is going to make me sweat like that.

Oh hell no.

WHY DO THEY DO THAT? I know several guys that some how get pleasure out of sweating at the dinner table, sorry but it's sort of disgusting.

Oh my gosh - that picture of Danny's sweat is hilarious! Boys are crazy. That burger looked delicious all on its own.

My husband introduced me to fresh sliced jalapeno on my burgers. How did I, as a Whitesican (White/Mexican), grow up to be my age without ever trying it?

It's amazing, though I do draw the line at allowing sweat beads to roll down my face.

Yummmmm
