King

Have I told you about my Stephen King love?
I bought this book, The Stephen King Illustrated Companion, the other day. It was on sale and, like I said, I love SK so I thought I would purchase it.

Cooper is skeptical. He thinks I spend my money foolishly. "More dog bones and less mass marketed memorabilia"- says Cooper

It's basically a collection of Stephen King manuscripts, correspondence, drawings, and memorabilia. There are a lot of velum packets inside that contain various tokens. A packet might contain original manuscript excerpt from 217 Overlook Hotel or copy edits from The Dead Zone's prologue.

These is copy of the final galley page from The Stand, complete with SK's handwritten changes and additions. GANGSTA!

I started reading Stephen King when I was about 10. I picked up my dad's copy of Cugo because I knew it was about a dog and I like dogs. It took me a while to get through it, but I read that sucker and I never looked back.

"Remember the simplest thing of all ~ how it is to be children, secure in belief and thus afraid of the dark"-Stephen King, duh.

It was not too long after my good buddy Crazy Amy and I became friends that we realized we had a shared interest in our passion for Stephen King novels. We would talk about the books and quiz each other about cross references connecting Stephen King's characters and plots from book to book. We still do that. I love that Crazy Amy.

Peep that shit!

Amy texted me today and told me that in November, SK will be speaking at friggen' McKinney high school in McKinney, TX (near Dallas and whatnot). The cost to see the King speak, answer questions, receive his latest book (11/22/63), and listen to him do a book reading was $35.00....which is pretty much what you would pay for a hard copy of the book itself. Holy hell, count me in! I bought a ticket to the event, and a plane ticket to Dallas. Stephen King is only doing 5 stops on this tour!

Sorry, I am geeking out. I can't help it. I told you, I love Stephen King.
