The day after my graduation, the boys decided to play some disc golf. Danny and Lee were to return to Lubbock immediately after the game, so I decided to tag along and spend some quality time with my Bros.

It was a fun day….with the small, yet frustrating, exception that I could only have one beer since there was nowhere for me to pee. The boys could just go behind a tree, but I can’t. I think I have written about this before. That’s what you get for hanging out with a bunch of dudes. You can hang with the boys, but you can never really pee standing up.

3 years: the leather anniversary

With out a hint or clue of any kind, he took himself down to Allen’s Boots on south congress and bought me a pair of old gringo cowboy boots.

He even knew my size!

They are perfect. I would have picked this exact pair out myself, if given the opportunity.

We went to Mars and had a wonderful feast. We toasted our marriage, reminisced about the past, and discussed the future. I love that husband of mine. I am truly a lucky gal…and not just because he got me a pair of kick ass boots.

Dale, Larry, Rachel and I took a trip to San Antonio, last weekend, to celebrate the marriage of Rachel’s brother and his new wifey.

Time was spent drinking on the river walk.

When we got back to the St. Anthony hotel, Rachel and I thought it would be a fabulous idea to utilize the rooftop stage for a little photo shoot.

Today, I turned in my masters report to the UT graduate school office. As I walked over to the UT tower (where I had to go to turn that monster in) I had crazy butterflies in my stomach.

I kept thinking, “this may be the last time I ever walk across campus”

Then, on the walk from the tower to my car, you could not PAY me to stop smiling.

I am still smiling.

I also completed my one and only final…just a few minutes ago! It was an online exam, and I had the option of taking it early. I took that option, Jack!!!

(got an A)

Now, I just have to complete a few formalities and I am DONE!!

The hard stuff is out of the way. I am floating on easy street now, boy.

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!

Maybe I should go buy a few new dresses to celebrate...

Almost Done

This is my last week of school!!!!!

Tonight, I will be going to the last class I will ever take as a graduate student!!!!!

I am done with my masters report (it’s like a thesis, but I collect other people’s data), but I have to go through a pain in the ass process of getting it approved. The deadline for doing so is Friday, May 4^th at 5:00. Time is ticking.

I also have to make sure I have met all of my clinical and educational competences and hours. This is another pain in the ass process.

Oh, and I have one final I need to take. I think it will be an easy one. I have all of finals week to do it, but I want it done by this Friday (it’s an online test). Cross your fingers.

I am beginning to get the butterflies in my tummy. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s a little, pin hole kind of light but I see it. Pretty soon, I will be free to:

- sit by the pool and read a book at my leisure

-watch T.V. again, without guilt (I gotta catch up on Lost and 30 Rock).

-read whatever I want to read, and not just books and papers related to my field

-sleep in, past 5:30a.m.

-take road trips on the weekend

-get rid of this freakin’ stress (my neck and stomach are killing me)

-make money

-give my money back to the government (thank you, FAFSA)

-go to sleep easily on Sunday nights

-cook meals for my husband

-go to the grocery store

MY TIME IS GOING TO BE MINE AGAIN!!

I just need to get through this week. It’s going to be a tough one.

Graduation is May 19^th. Holla!
