Death of a Sock Dachshund
A year or two ago, I made a replica of my real dachshund, Charlie, In the form of a sock dachshund.
It took a long time to make and I thought it was pretty dang cute. Sure, Charlie was creeped out by it but that made it all the more charming.
An hour or two ago, I walked into the living room to find Cooper (my other real Dachshund) ripping into the sock dachshund. This is the gruesome scene that the murderous Cooper left in his wake:
Guts everywhere
Twisted body
Gaping hole in the neck
I attempted mouth-to-mouth
But I could not savehim it. I held it's broken body in my arms and screamed...
WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?????????
Friggen' Cooper. He's a Blood-thirsty killer.
(Blood = Stuffing)
(Blood also = cicadas)

Hey Pal, Did You Know About This?
For those of you in Austin, do you know about Punch!
From the Punch! Website-
"PUNCH! is the best-booked, best-attended comedy show in Austin. Seriously. Plus it's only five bucks. So it's a no-brainer. But go ahead and gamble on that $8.50 movie, Ass-hat.
PUNCH! is your go-to for consistent, high-caliber comedy. Unlike open-mics or haphazardly assembled showcases, PUNCH! is a carefully curated show with an eye on professionalism, cutting edge content, and audience enjoyment. A joint production between Matt Bearden and Capitol City Comedy Club, PUNCH! maintains a focus on stand-up, but also makes nods toward reliable improv, sketch and variety acts.
PUNCH! currently schedules 3 seasons per year. Unless otherwise noted, shows are staged at CapCityComedyClub, TUESDAYS at 8PM. Tickets are always just $5. Taste it."
I have been to two Punch! shows and I highly recommend you take your boring ass out on a Tuesday for some laughter. Matt Bearden is a tremendous host. It is worth it to just watch him chat a little bit in between sets and introduce the comics. Dude is funny. Smart funny.
The sets are short and sweet and you are out of there before 10:00. If you want to go, I will go with you.
For everyone else, have you seen Whisker Wars on IFC?
A while back, I blogged about the Beard and Moustache competition in which my buddy Danny was a competitor. It was a 10 part blog series on my part. Crazy. Any-hoo, the IFC has made a documentary about competitive bearding that follows a few bearded men as they attend various competitions- including the beard and moustache competition I blogged about.
The Austin Facial Hair Club is heavily featured on the show. Here are a few shots of these down home boys:

Husband Dale works with Allen, the guy on the right. Amazing beard, yes?
I like the Austin team for 3 reasons:
1. I am from Austin, duh.
2. They seem to have the right attitude about beard competitions. They don't take themselves too seriously and appear to have more fun than anyone.
3. They have found the happy medium somewhere between having a good sense of humor and being a smart ass.
We don't get IFC on our cable plan so I just purchase the episodes on itunes. You might consider doing the same.
That is all.

Straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.

In Other News:
School (work) starts back up the week after next. I'm ready. Know what else I'm ready for? A day that the temperature does not reach triple digits!
Saw Horrible Bosses.....thought is sucked, horribly.
The other day, I was experiencing terrible pain as my neck and shoulder muscles on my left side were constricted, knotted and twisted into spasm. Turns out, I had been taking anti-nausea medication for the past 3-4 days instead of my muscle relaxers (they look almost Identical). CHECK THE LABLE BEFORE YOU POP YO PILL! Lesson Learned.
