I came across these pics today, and thought I would share them with you.

Before I do, let me tell you that I am currently mute.

Way to much karaoke will do that to you. Last night, I totally blew out my voice somewhere in between “sweet child o’ mine” and “piece of my heart”. Thanks again for going with me, Laura B.

I think Dale kind of likes that I can’t speak. He told me I am acting like how a normal wife should…all silent and what not. My fists still work, though, so he better watch it before I ugly up his mug.

ON WITH THE SHOW.

Last Friday, we went to a happy hour party.

Cody and Marna were there. Looks like Cody has his eye on the prize.

I had to come in to clean up the situation.

Marna was grateful. Oh, yeah….I dress like a man now (and you thought it was Halloween).

Josh was there as well. This was taken right before we broke out into a fight. It was all in fun. Plus, Josh had taken both whiskey and tequila shots thus rendering him a bit psycho. I had neither shot, but do not need the devils poison to turn to such a state.

There was this giant spider hanging out with us. Pretty awesome.

In case you were wondering, that is Josh on my couch with the lonestar beer box taped around his leg. You can thank Lee for that one.

30 is the new 21 (part 3)

On the walk back to our car, Rachel spotted this sweet ass ride and had to strike a pose.

We make it to Josh’s place only to step in and say hi to everyone before returning to the Peacock located next door.

Things at the Red Eyed fly continued to go well. There were many pretty ladies packing the joint. At one point Josh Johnson said, “what, is there a super model convention going on?”

Lee indulged in many adult beverages and then snuck up on people.

Even though I tried to be nice to him, Lee began to degrade me.

I swear, he insulted me at least one time every 5 minutes.

That’s ok. I know he loves me.

Mostly, we just hung out on that damned couch and made each other laugh

And it was time to go to our next location

but not before we had supper. (oh, by the way...operation skinny witch took a major hit. It's cool, I am back on the saddle big time tomorrow.)

30 is the new 21 (part 1)

Yesterday, we celebrated Rachel’s 30^th birthday and oh did we have some fun!

While Dale, Charlie, Lee and Josh were enjoying the Bob Dylan concert at Stubbs, Rachel and I were at the Peacock enjoying some Peacocktails.

Because Josh lives right next to the Peacock, we thought it would be a good idea to park at his hose (which is on east 6^th), have a drink at the bar and then call a cab to take us downtown.

Bad Idea. All the people that came in for ACL took up all of the cabs. We waited for over an hour (and three more drinks) before a cab finally came and got us. In the meantime, we were propositioned a few time by fellas driving by as we were standing near the street waiting for the cab. Yeah, not so nice.

Still, it was an affirmation that these 30 year old broads still got it!!
I am soooo kidding.

Moving on…

Rachel and I finally got to the Red Eyed Fly and met up with the boys.

There is something about going to the Red Eyed Fly after a concert at Stubbs. It’s a tradition.

After we took all of those photos of us on the couch, I asked the group “where is my beer?”

Rachel said “It’s in your hand!”

What in the hell

During my lunch hour today, I noticed that I missed a call from Colin. Now Colin is not one of those people that just calls to chat or to tell you that they were thinking about you. His calls come with a purpose. Knowing this, I decided to call him back immediately.

Unfortunately, he was the bearer of bad news. He informed me that the White Stripes had canceled their Austin shows.

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew it was too good to be true!! I Friggin’ knew it!

In my time of anger, I took some frustration out on Colin. I believe it is called “anger displacement” or something of the like. I told him: “I hate you”, and “I hope you get syphilis”.

Colin is a dear friend, and he understood that I needed to vent.

Still, I would like to tell Colin that I don’t hate him and that I really do not want him to get the syphilis.

I had to call Dale and Rachel and break the news to them. That sucked. Dale told Lee about the cancellation. Lee is a trooper, though, and he is going to come to Austin this weekend regardless. Rock Star!!!

I am still pissed about this. Seriously pissed.

Sinusitis

I have a damned sinus infection. Particularly, I feel the pain in my frontal and ethmoid sinus cavities. It sucks.

These infections tend to last for a week, at least. Mine started on Friday. I am fighting it with water, pomegranate juice (for the antioxidants), vitamins, Dayquil sinus, ibuprofen (for the pain), mentholated nasal strips, the neti pot, and good old steam treatments.

Sinus infections are not contagious, so I will be going to work tomorrow. I will rely on the Dayquil and ibuprofen to alleviate the symptoms. It won’t be fun, but I can do it.

I got to get better for the upcoming White Stripes show.

There is NO WAY I am missing that one.

Yup. We were playing hackey sack…in the rain.

STAB YOUR LIVER!

Ok, so here is the story morning glory.

A while back, whilst hanging out with PJ and Kristi, I met their friend Brad.

There he is, on the left, playing golf with Dale and PJ (amongst others).

Dale and I immediately liked him. He went to Tech, so we have Lubbock in common. Plus, he is just a super nice fella.

I don’t know if I like him enough to sit in his lap, but whatever.

A few weekends back, I went to Shenanigans with Kristi, PJ, Kim, and Brad.

I was not drinking beer that night. Instead, I opted for the rum and diet coke. Big mistake!!! I don’t know if the bartender heard me correctly when I placed my order, because the drink I was given was more like rum and a splash of coke. Eee gads!

I felt ok, though. I sat and talked with everybody and things were groovy.

Then, before you could say “please add more coke to this drink” they turned quite ugly…

Now, do you see how my ciggy (I am going to quit soon I swear) is way too close to Brad’s face? Foreshadowing people.

Long story short, I somehow burned poor Brad right below his eyebrow. It caused his skin to scab over. I am not sure how it happened, but It did.

This past weekend, I managed to chip his front tooth. Yeah.

I was doing the ol’ “stop hitting yourself” routine with him, and I accidentally hit his tooth with my ring.

Brad: (covering his mouth)“Oh my god, I think you chipped my tooth!”

Me: “Whatever, sucker!”

Brad: “Oh shit, seriously! I think you just chipped it” (Runs to the bathroom)

Me: “crap”

I felt REALLY BAD about the whole thing. Brad says he is going to stay away from me now. I think that is probably for the best. Otherwise, I might accidentally stab him in the liver next time.

It’s been known to happen.

Furniture

Soon, I will post a blog about how I am have caused accidental (and in one instance, permanent) harm to the same fella on two separate occasions. I am waiting on a few pictures to be sent my way, so you have to wait as well.

In other news…

Dale and I looked at a bunch of furniture stores for a new couch this past weekend. At the time, we thought that we were going to give our couch to a friend of ours. It’s a good thing she did not end up needing it, because the couch I wanted was not cheap. And, Louis shanks (our favorite snooty furniture store) does not offer financing. Don’t get me wrong, we tried the room store, haverty’s, and lacks first but could not find a single item we liked.

I could have gone into Louis Shanks blindfolded and still have managed to find a couch that I would have been extremely happy with.

It’s too bad we are not rich.

We did manage to place an order for one of these beauties

Now ya’ll know I have been looking for a jewelry armoire for some time

This one kicks ass

I just have to wait 6 weeks for it to arrive.

When it does arrive, I am going to have a little party. It will be me, Dale, and the armoire. We will drink wine and I will tell it stories about what life was like before it came to live with us. Then, I will stuff it with my obnoxious jewelry. Somehow, I don’t think this baby was made to store my skull necklace…or my giant, plastic, red heart earrings.
